I’m just back in from a run up schiehallion, such a innocent looking route. Little did I know that the top of the hill is covered in quartz which when wet is a nightmare to run on, being super slippery. This tied in with a health dose of cold wind and thick cloud left me in my short’s and thin fleece top shivering my way to the top. With hands like blocks of ice and the on-set of darkness, it was good to reach the top and leg it back down.
Good day working today, out and about with the fire crews, we covered some technical gear reviews, stretcher handling and carries and boat based rescues from a high line. Tomorrow we head to the Calvine gorge for some cliff rescue rope work.
I’ve left my camera in a locked class room so no photo’s from today 😦
